Take Note: 3-D Printing and the New Centre County Child Protective Center
Imagine a future in which a device connected to a computer can print a solid object—everything from replacement car parts to toys and jewelry. Sound like something out of Star Trek? WPSU’s Patty Satalia talks with Dr. Irene Petrick, a faculty member in Penn State’s College of Information Sciences and Technology about how 3-D printing is revolutionizing manufacturing. Plus, WPSU’s Emily Reddy talks with Judge Brad Lunsford about Centre County’s Safety and Protection Collaborative. It was formed in late 2011 in response to allegations of child sex abuse against former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.
