Set 1

Texas rattled off 5 unanswered points to take game 1 25-22.

After Penn State took a 22-19 lead Texas called its second timeout, then came out on the attack.  Penn State coach Russ Rose called two timeouts, but couldn’t stop the Longhorn momentum.

The first set was sloppy on both sides of the net.  Penn State setter Alisha Glass had two atrocious sets, one that found nothing but the ground.  Again, it looked as though Penn State might still pull off the set despite playing below their peak. 

If Penn State can shore up the block and back-line defense like it did against Hawaii they should be able to right the ship.
