"Making Smiles While Building a Business" James Broadhurst joined Eat'n Park as executive vice president and treasurer in 1973 following a seven-year career in commercial banking with PNC Bank. He was elected president of Eat'n Park Restaurants in 1975 and nine years later became chairman and chief executive officer. A 1965 graduate of Penn State, Broadhurst was named the University's 1994 Alumni Fellow in the College of Health and Human Development. He received the 1997 Distinguished Alumnus Award from Penn State and was chosen to serve as the Conti distinguished professor at Penn State in 1999. He also was the chairman of Penn State's Grand Destiny Campaign. Broadhurst holds a master's in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh, where he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Katz Graduate School of Business. He was awarded the 2005 Hospitality Executive of the Year Award from Penn State's School of Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management. He is actively involved in the western Pennsylvania community, serving on numerous boards and committees and has earned numerous awards for his professional and civic accomplishments.
