"Creating New Entertainment Experiences for the Digital Family" Hecht, noted as one of the most influential and powerful people in animation, has created hits, won awards, guided franchises into household names and introduced groundbreaking entertainment for people of all ages. In late 2005, Hecht launched his latest venture: the innovative digital media content company Worldwide Biggies Inc., focused on developing a new generation of multi-platform franchises. Aimed at the family entertainment, animation and teen markets, Biggies has four divisions: television, film, Biggies Broadband and a nonprofit sector, Shine Global. Biggies' content cuts across all traditional and emerging distribution platforms and specializes in the areas of computer generated (CG) features; high-definition (HD) movies and television; direct to DVD; and broadband and mobile media. Prior to starting Biggies, Hecht was the creator and president of MTV networks' Spike TV, the first network for men. Prior to launching Spike, Hecht served as president of film and television entertainment for Nickelodeon. He supervised the network's $350 million expansion in animation and started its streak as the top-rated cable television channel. In 1997, he built Nickelodeon Animation Studios, Los Angeles‚Äö first new TV animation studio in 35 years. Hecht is a Columbia University graduate.
