The Penn State Board of Trustees today unanimously approved the material terms of a proposed transaction to transfer the operating assets of WPSU public radio and television stations to WHYY, a public media organization based in Greater Philadelphia (licensed out of Wilmington, Delaware), which serves the tri-state region. The trustees action preserves the University’s goal to continue its focus on its core educational mission, while supporting free access to public media for WPSU’s 1.5 million citizens in Central Pennsylvania.

WPSU and the State College Area School District will co-host the Multicultural Children’s Festival from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, at the State College Area High School South Building. Discover the world through art, music and hands-on activities for children. The festival is free, but advance registration is requested.

Barbara O. Korner and James R. Korner (posthumously) are the recipients of the 2024 Penn State Outreach and Online Education Fischer Award of Distinction for their significant contributions to the University. Barbara Korner is the former dean of the College of Arts and Architecture.
