Deer Season by Brandon Pelter

Deer Season

For the first time in decades, Pennsylvania’s deer rifle hunting season starts the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Check out this video Penn State student Brandon Pelter created last year as part of Penn State’s John Curley Center For Sports Journalism. Students in the course examined the state of Pennsylvania’s hunting industry and culture. While Pennsylvania is home to more hunters than any other state, it’s also a sport facing participation issues and a delicate balance between ecological and economic pressures.
