The Stompers Project: Stomping Out the Stigma Around Mental Health
This video highlights The Stompers Project® by Jana Marie Foundation, a community art and education initiative that uses creative expression to engage people in conversations about mental health and suicide prevention while connecting individuals to supportive resources and sharing evidence-based practices that promote mental well-being.
Created in collaboration with artists, schools, and community organizations, the larger-than-life sculptures are built from recycled sneakers and symbolize a shared commitment to “stomp out” the stigma surrounding mental illness. Through storytelling, hands-on participation, and public art, The Stompers Project® brings communities together, encourages open dialogue, and promotes learning alongside messages of hope, resilience, and connection.
