Winning the match: The fight to sanction girls wrestling in PA
Girls wrestling is the fastest growing high school sport in the United States. In Pennsylvania, a notable wrestling “hot spot,” girls’ participation numbers have skyrocketed 200% over the past few years. However, girls haven’t had the same opportunities to wrestle as their male counterparts; girls wrestling hasn’t been recognized as an official sport by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA).
