Join World Kitchen host Tamra Fatemi-Badi as she welcomes home cooks from Kazakhstan to the World Kitchen.

The menu will feature two recipes that are very traditional to Kazakhstan. The first is Bauyrsak, which is a fried dough often served with jam and tea, and the second is Manti, which are steamed dumplings made with ground beef, potatoes, and pumpkin!

About the chefs

Ainaz Abildina is a chemist and associate professor in the Department of Chemical Processes and Industrial Ecology at Satbayev University. She is currently a visiting scholar at Penn State.

Balzhan Bektemirova is an English language educator and researcher specializing in TESOL. She is a lecturer in the Department of English Language and Teaching Methods at Ualikhanov University in Kazakhstan and is currently a visiting scholar at Penn State University.

Togzhan Abdullayeva is a mining geologist and lecturer in the Department of Geology at Satbayev University. Her research focuses on assessing lithium- and rare earth element-enriched horizons in claystones within Pennsylvania coal measures.
