Katherine C. Pearson
Professor of Law at Penn State’s Dickinson Law
Katherine C. Pearson is a Professor of Law at Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson Law, where she teaches courses on elder law, wills trusts and estates, nonprofit organizations law, and contract law. For close to twenty years, her academic focus in research and writing has been on laws and policies connected to aging. She has served in national and state organizations for attorneys specializing in elder law and is co-editor and a regular writer for the Elder Law Prof Blog.
Gwen McGhan, NR, PhD
Program Administrator at Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence Program for Person Centered Living Systems of Care
Gwen McGhan received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta and her Bachelor of Nursing (with Distinction) and Master of Nursing in Evidence-Based Nursing Practice from the University of Manitoba. She completed her PhD in Nursing at The Pennsylvania State University and is currently on the faculty and the Program Administrator for the Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence and Program for Person Center Living Systems of Care at Penn State. Dr. McGhan’s doctoral research focused on family caregivers of older adults living in the community.
Jane McDowell, GNP
Project Director at Penn State College of Nursing
Jane McDowell completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Penn State in 1987, and received her Nurse Practitioner degree from New York University in 1997. As an advanced practice nurse, she has worked in a variety of clinical settings including acute care, nursing homes and home care. For the past 5 years, she has been working as a Project Director at the Penn State College of Nursing. In addition to my full time position at Penn State, Dr. McDowell also performs health risk assessments for older adults in their homes.
Ai-jen Poo
Co-director of Caring Across Generations
Ai-jen Poo is the Director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance and Co-director of the Caring Across Generations campaign. In 2000 she co-founded Domestic Workers United, the organization that spearheaded the successful passage of the state’s historic Domestic Workers Bill of Rights in 2010. She also helped launch Caring Across Generations in 2011. Poo is the recipient of numerous honors and awards including a 2014 MacArthur Foundation Fellowship and inclusion on Fortune.com’s World’s 50 Greatest Leaders list. Her book, The Age of Dignity, was released in 2015.
